It's interesting to see that the world gets smaller and smaller while this metaverse concept gets bigger and bigger. The opportunity for communication (already practically instantaneous) becomes more engaging. However, I'm a bit concerned as to how this will affect people's real lives. If people are smart and take it in moderation (as with anything potentially engulfing), it can be a fun experience. It seems as if the metaverse can become another addiction...
